Chapter 4.3: Meeting of the Minds
Just like your entrance, Edwin's entrance was equally met with silence and stares. Between all the running around to appease different groups, you didn't have much of a chance to see his entrance. You merely spotted the top of his hat from across a multitude of heads going in the same direction Gemini did previously. You assume he is going to meet with her.
Hopefully, that's a good sign, you think to yourself before heading off to diffuse the latest scenario. As long as no one gets into a physical or magical altercation, you would call this a successful evening.
Alice finds you after the disruption of Edwin's entrance. She seems timid, yet there's an encouraging glint in her eye.
"With our little… stunt… they seem to be taking things seriously; Gemini, Edwin, and several Marcana and Illuden elders are meeting right now." She smirked, "I'd say that's a good sign."
"So, what do I do?"
"Just… keep the peace," Alice sighs, rubbing her eyes. "If nothing bad happens, they will have no reason to end the meeting earlier or argue about petty differences. We got this."
"…And what are you going to be doing?"
"Make sure they are actually doing something. Robert is with them as well. I think with the both of us we can keep everyone on track and actually get some answers."
You nod to each other and walk to do your respective tasks—though you definitely wish you were doing Alice's job.
