Teams are given two empty books- one for the Book of Illuden and one for the Book of Marcana. At puzzles throughout the event, teams are given stickers containing pages from the book. (Stickers are labeled with which book they're for and the page number) Each page contains one spell. By the time they get to this puzzle they should have all the pages, or be able to collect the missing pages from staff at this puzzle.

Walkthrough

1. Notice that there is a misspelled word in every spell.

2. Notice that every misspelled word is an animal, and that the 2nd and 4th line of each poem rhyme. This may help to disambiguate some of the words.

3. Notice that each word has a single incorrect character.

4. If you take the letters that would be correct for each animal in the Book of Marcana, you get PAIR LETTERS BY.

   1. For reference, the incorrect letters are ACHGFGPEGEEAL

5. If you take the incorrect letters for each animal in the Book of Illuden, you get PAGE A PLUS A IS A.

   1. For reference, the correct letters are ELECBBEAHIANI

6. Put those two messages together. Read as "PAIR LETTERS BY PAGE A PLUS A IS A"

   1. If you enter each half into Spiderdog, you'll be told that one is part 1/2 and one is part 2/2 to help order this message

7. Treating A=0, B=1, C=2, etc., add the unused set of letters from each book. That is, add the letter from Page 1 of the Book of Illuden to the letter from Page 1 of the Book of Marcana.

   1. You get ENLIGHTENMENT

   2. That's the answer

   3. Enter that into Spiderdog
