Presentation:

Teams walk up to a lake with a grid of buoys on it. They are given some paper with an empty grid to fill in and are able to access some kayaks to use to go investigate the buoys

Walkthrough:

Teams first need to row out and collect the data from the buoys on the lake. Each buoy is colored and also is numbered. Some of the buoys are numbered twice.

Teams should connect the dots by following the numbers for each color. Doing this will result in drawing a letter for each color:

Black:

Brown:

Red:

Orange:

Yellow:

Green:

Blue:

Purple:

Grey:

White:

Teams should also notice that the colors are resistor colors from 1-10. Ordering the letters based on the color should yield:

UNDER WHITE

And in fact that’s where teams should look next. They should obtain a magnetic stick from staff, and using it will be able fish out another rope from under the white buoys. Each rope will have a sequence of wooden blocks which are numbered and painted to match a buoy.
