Administration (AKA White Rabbit)
Owner:
Jon, Christine
Solution:
KENTUCKY
GC Notes:
GC to update day-of-game.
Presentation:
Flavor text:
Spiderdog says: "Have you visited our open wireless network for guests and students yet? It is Storybrook Guests. You can explore our intranet website by opening any web browser." This network name is also provided on the School Newsletter handout as how to start the puzzle.
Setup:
There are multiple wireless networks visible (Storybrook Guests, Storybrook Teachers, Storybrook Department Heads, Storybrook Administrators). Initially a device is only allowed to connect to Storybrook Guests.
All staff have a badge with a 3 digit ID number and their first name.
Outside the cafeteria line there is a Wall of Department Head Photos (Xbox Avatars with an ID but no name).
In room B21A there is William the administrator's office with sticky notes on the wall, guarded by his intern.
Walkthrough:
Guest:
The guest page has flavor text about talking to any friendly teacher. All staff have a badge with their name and 3 digit ID number. At the bottom of a page is a login requiring a Name and ID. Observe one and enter it.
See table of all teachers at the bottom of the guide.
Entering any correct pair of (Name, ID) grants the device permission to connect to Storybrook Teachers.
Teachers:
The teacher page has a Yammer thread describing clues about how the department heads looked on picture day. Solving the logic grid puzzle allows the team to match the Names from the logic puzzle to the IDs on the wall.
Hair | Accessory | Shirt | ID | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Abigail | Black | Glasses | Yellow | 3469 |
Barney | White | Silly Hat | Blue | 4166 |
Caesar | Red | Nothing | Green | 7095 |
Darrell | Blonde | Cowboy Hat | White | 9331 |
Eleanor | Brown | Baseball Cap | Black | 0428 |
Entering any correct pair of (Name, ID) grants the device permission to connect to Storybrook Department Heads.
Department Heads:
The department head page has an announcement that an administrator network has been created and that department heads needing access should talk to William in room B19A. Upon arriving, William's intern tells the team "Hi. You must be here to meet with William. He just walked off so he must have forgotten about your meeting… like he does with everything. You'll understand when you see the post-it notes. But don't worry, he would never post anything from his actual ID on the wall."
On the wall are 18 post-it notes each with a unique 5 digit number. Each place has a digit that does not appear anywhere on the wall. These digits make up his actual ID.
Numbers that are on the wall:
79125 26057 60298 58822 23461 39333 | 87584 00968 48677 32586 11036 45692 | 52819 86255 67144 15479 01941 73313 |
Entering the correct pair of (Name, ID) grants the device permission to connect to Storybrook Administrators.

Administrators:
The administrator network has a draft notice that students must be given access to their student record if they ask for it, and directs them to ask the registrar for it.
The team's student record has a cut-up QR code and flavor text that directs them to use Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator on it when reassembled. Assembling is done via a 2D word ladder (Knap Sack > Sack Lunch > Lunch Line). See Data below.
When scanned, the QR code creates one-time codes for something labeled "Hidden network's name (SSID)". Connecting to the hidden network with the one-time code as the SSID is the last network.
Hidden network:
This page says that the final answer they are seeking is the favorite team of the silly hatted department head. Going back to the wall they discover that avatar is wearing a Kentucky shirt. KENTUCKY (or WILDCATS) is the final answer.
Hinting:
When figuring out the logic grid puzzle:
- Ugh. I should have a few prewritten hints for this.
When assembling the QR code:
Labels are always left-to-right and top-to-bottom.
Labels between two tiles should both be oriented the same (not rotated 180 degrees).
QR codes have the boxes on 3 corners.
When scanning the QR code:
- Did you use the app the Required Software tile suggested?
When connecting to the hidden network:
- None of the Storybrook networks are secured (have a password)…
