Memory Solution
How It Works
Each of the pictures on the screen corresponds to a NATO letter. (Charlie Brown = Charlie, people dancing = Tango, Microphone = Mike, Papa Smurf = Papa, etc.) The different background colors (ROYGBIV) provide an ordering. The list of pictures and their colors, in order, are:
- MIKE - RED
- TANGO - BLUE
- INDIA - ORANGE
- X-RAY - GREEN
- DELTA - YELLOW
- QUEBEC - VIOLET
- INDIA - INDIGO
- LIMA - GREEN
- PAPA - BLUE
- TANGO - VIOLET
- VICTOR - ORANGE
- TANGO - RED
- CHARLIE - INDIGO
- KILO - YELLOW
The teams should sort the by color, and using the letter abbreviation for each NATO letter, the teams should get:
- RED - MT
- ORANGE - IV
- YELLOW - DK
- GREEN - XL
- BLUE - TP
- INDIGO - IC
- VIOLET - QT
These are not abbreviations, but rather two syllable words, wherein both syllables can be represented by the name of a letter:
- RED - MT = EMPTY
- ORANGE - IV = IVY
- YELLOW - DK = DECAY
- GREEN - XL = EXCEL
- BLUE - TP = TEEPEE
- INDIGO - IC = ICY
- VIOLET - QT = CUTIE
Taking the first letter of each word, teams find the answer: EIDETIC
