Bleep Solution

How It Works

Teams Receive:

  • 28 numbered 8x8 grids
  • 1 "Default Factory Configuration Grid"
  • 12 Tetris-style puzzle pieces
  • Some number (ideally 3) Bliptronic devices

There are two steps to be done in parallel:

  1. Assemble the 12 puzzle pieces into an 8x8 square. The factory configuration grid shows the coloring pattern (standard checkerboard) of that grid, which helps in assembly, but this is just a straight logic puzzle.

  2. The 28 grids are all individual measures of music, if you key the highlighted notes into a Bliptronic.

There are four songs in total made up by the 30 pieces, and what is relevant are the numbers attached to the grids for each song (order doesn't matter).

Song identification

  • Joy to the World: 27 2 51 47 55 42 50 59 14 31
  • Chopsticks: 41 2 38 55 13 45
  • Do-Re-Mi: 27 2 51 47 55 42 50 16
  • Twinkle Twinkle Little Star: 41 2 19 47

Once both steps are done, the final step is possible:

Using the assembled puzzle to map each button on the Bliptronic to a number, each of the four songs found indicates the buttons to be highlighted to form a measure of the final song. The final song is "Marry had a little lamb", and the final bar is missing a note. The word that corresponds with that note, "Snow", is the final answer.
