Lassos Solution

Teams solve the crossword clues on the pieces. Each piece contains four crossword clues.

Teams notice each answer appears twice, on different pieces. They use this information to pair up the edges.

As teams form a larger square, they realize that some of the pieces are labeled as "Top", "Corner", "Edge" or "Bottom". They use this to assemble the full 5x5 grid.

Teams use a button to flip the grid over to its reverse side, revealing a Truchet pattern

Teams realize the Truchet pattern contains a message:

Teams submit UNSOLVABLE and get a Keep Going message that nudges them to figure out what all the answers have in common.

Teams realize all the answers are knots, and go searching for an unsolvable knot…
