Huntin' Solution

The individual weights of each of the animals can be calculated from the totals shown on the results page. Each animal weight gives a value in the regular ASCII range. Converting these to letters gives the phrase LIVETREESFLAGS.

This phrase should cause them to notice that in most scenes are there exactly three live trees. Two large ones, and one smaller one. The clue should also tell them that the trees represent semaphore flags. Using the smaller tree as the center and the larger trees as each of the arms, they will be able to extract a series of letters. Each player will receive a unique set of letters. Ordering the groups of letters together gives the phrase FOUR ONE FIVE LBS. Ordering of the sets can be determined a number of different ways, all giving the same result. Either order the letters based on the number of animals in each scene, or base on the number of additional foliage elements (dead trees or bushes).

They have been shooting hundreds of pounds of food, so this should direct them to try and shoot a specific set of animals to get that exact amount of food. There are a number of ways to do this, but it's relatively simple to just brute force an answer by starting with 4-5 of one of the animals and then adding/removing lighter or heavier animals as necessary. It's also much easier to focus on the slower animals (Elk, Deer, Bears, etc.) because needing to kill 5 chipmunks is not fun.

Upon successfully killing exactly 415 lbs worth of game, they get a different summary screen, which hints that there might be some more exotic game available. The only thing available in a button to go hunting again. Clicking the button, they are sent on a hunt where everyone gets a single animal, an extraordinarily fast UNICORN!

This one is harder to kill that the others, but if enough team members land shots, upon returning to the final screen they're told they've been successful, and they have gathered some UNICORN MEAT.

Solution

LIVETREESFLAGS: Yes, the live trees are flags.

UNICORN: Did you get it?

GC Notes

Some teams don't know the difference between elk and moose. The moose is bigger and slower and has larger horns (also said it looked "golden" for some teams).

This is an Elk

This is a Moose
