Non-Disclosure Agreement

Presentation:

The players receive three documents titled "Fabrikamp Non-Disclosure Agreement" and labeled as "Copy 0", "Copy 1", and "Copy 2"

Walkthrough:

Teams read through the document. There are three copies, each tied to a specific player (extra teammates are welcome to help read and ensure that rules are being followed). Each turn, all 3 players sign a single clause on the document they're holding and then pass that document to someone next to them. At the end, players end up holding the copy they started with. The following graph shows what player is holding what copy at each turn. Conveniently, this is ALSO the graph of "at any given turn, who should be holding what copy" since each player starts holding the copy of their number.

The grid spreadsheet (see link in the "data" section below) contains a list of the rules by document, including what player is supposed to sign each rule and what turn they're supposed to sign it on.

When teams follow the rules, their keyphrases are (in order by player number) "REPLACEINITIALS", "WITHSIGNERDOCNUMBER", and "READACROSSCLAUSES". These are two separate instructions. "Replace Initials with Signer Doc Number" means that players should write a 0 where Player 0 signed each document, a 1 where Player 1 signed, and a 2 where Player 2 signed. "Read across clauses" means that those numbers should be grouped across each clause into a three-digit ternary number.

Once they group the numbers by clauses (and order then by document number), reading the ternary gives the final answer, EXPLANATORY.

Rule Clarifications:

  • Caesar Shifts are forward. Thus, a Caesar shift of 3 turns A into D.

  • "Reverse Stated Passing Direction", like all rules, does not take effect on the turn that you're reading it. It takes effect on the NEXT turn.

  • Yes, single character words (such as numbers) are words. "Word count" means whatever Microsoft Word thinks it means.

Solution:

EXPLANATORY
