Scratch-It Solution

How It Works

  1. At the bottom of every card there is a NATIONAL LOTTO ID. These are strings of hexadecimal characters.
  • These can be decoded as 2 character ASCII letters.
  • When decoded and ordered in the alphabetical order of the name of the cards.
    • The combined initial phrase is "SORT CARD PRIZE BIG TO SMALL TO FORM DROP QUOTE"
  • Optionally, the team can just brute force the ordering
  1. Scratch LUCKY LETTERS grid area to reveal a set of 6 letters (on each card)
  2. Scratch these lucky letters from the grid on the right of the tickets to reveal black boxes of drop quote
  3. Drop quote non-scratched letters into drop quote grid formed by cards
  • The phrase for the drop quote continues across all cards so that there are only 4 lines. The ordering is clued by step 1 which is:
    1. CRAZY CASH: $1,000,000
    2. FREE MONEY FOR LIFE: $100,000
    3. BARS OF GOLD: $10,000
    4. EVERYBODY WINS: $1,000
    5. DOUBLE DOUGH: $100
    6. AWESOME SCRATCHY: $10
  • If the teams end up scrathing more than just the lucky letters they're not screwed as these same letters should appear as a shadow printed on the card beneath the scratch layer. Just tell them to pretend like they didn't scratch the wrong ones.
  • After finishing the drop quote the get message "SCRATCH THE REST OF THE NON VOWELS AND SUM THEM THEN SORT THE TICKETS USING THE BACKGROUND COLOR"
  1. Sum numbers on each card to get a binary number
  2. Convert to ASCII to get a letter
  3. Order by background roygbv color to get final word
