Cafe 34 was turned into a 9 hole goofy golf course but instead of using putters to sink a golf ball, the teams had to manipulate a beach ball through various obstacle sets ("holes") using air power.

Inventory

  • two leaf blowers ("clubs") to be driven by two "drivers"
  • extension cords for the blowers to be maintained by two "caddies"
  • safety equipment for all the active participants (goggles and optional ear muffs)

Rules

  • Each hole had rings/wickets through which the team had to maneuver the ball. The rings/wickets were numbered and labeled with an arrow. A ring/wicket scored only if the ball went all the way through it in the marked direction and all the lowered numbered rings/wickets had already been scored. There was no penalty for going through extra rings/wickets.
  • Hole 1 was on the ground (i.e., used wickets). If the ball left the roped off course, the team had to start the hole over.
  • Holes 2-9 were in the air (i.e., used rings). If the ball touched the floor or a player, the team had to start the hole over.
  • The caddies were responsible for the safety of their drivers. They had to keep the cord from tangling and tripping anyone.
